Running

Whether you’re looking to head onto the fells or stick to the tarmac & paths, Lane Head Barns are perfectly positioned for you to explore the Peak District National Park on foot.

There are various footpaths straight out the back door onto the local moors and hills, as well as famous fell routes, such as the Edale Skyline just 25 miles from Lane Head Barns. The Roaches also offers excellent trail running and tracks all the way up to 505m above sea level. There are also 5 park runs all within a 35 min drive (Congleton, Bakewell, Macclesfield and Stoke on Trent (x2)). If, however, you’re after something slightly less strenuous, both the Tissington Trail and the Manifold valley offer traffic free, relatively flat routes to run and explore.
